Default took 6.0 sonoma to gmc dealer for oil change.....

I always change my own oil but today the weather is nasty tired of being stuck in the house and figured what the heck I would love to see their reaction so. It's something I have been curious about since I finished the swap so I Headed over to the local GMC dealer for an oil change. They ask v6 or 4 cylinder I say nope 6.0 lq9 v-8.

Pull up and they are dead as hell and I get rushed by a service adviser. Service adviser that engine was never an option in a sonoma their is no way that engine could fit in that truck and it would be completely undriveable." Me "really" you wanna come look it's in their I put it in and have driven it over 30K miles since the transplant. Adviser no way it won't fit safety systems can't work etc unsafe. just come look tell the guy I want mobile 1 and he needs to use a 05 corvette oil filter that simple. Bewildered he opens the hood and counts coils jaw drops followed by hoard of other techs coming over to slobber on it. The questions like what doesn't work on the truck. Nope it all works cold air, cruise, abs, airbag stock dual electric fans pcm controlled, and all gauges functional. You would think I dropped a hand grenade inside their head.

Sorry for the long story they changed oil and I went on my way but got a nice grin for the day.

Lol this is like when I took my car in for an alignment and told them to align the rear because of the control arms and panhard bar. They were like, "This car came with no adjustable rear suspension components." I told them to do it anyway. Then I walked out into the bay and explained to them how I wanted it done and they told me sorry ha ha.

I woulda been scared to do that.

they'd put a 4cyl's worth of oil in it, then hammer on the wrong filter and tear up the threads on the pan. Say it's your fault when you complain..

A guy my dads age did it for me was really nice and impressed the adviser pointed me in his direction and said tell him what you need done. A couple of other techs commented they had never seen a swap that looked so factory. Man the WTF on their faces was absolutely priceless.

I took my old 94 V8 S10 to see how much i could get in a trade in. She told me $300.00 then immediately went to tell me i would be better off selling it out right, and she was serious.

If I had a dealership I wouldn't give you more than scrap value for it either. No way I would sell a vehicle that the previous owner cobbled together no matter how nice it looked.

Truth, No dealership is going to take their time with something like that. They would prefer stock vehicles.
