Default 05 Gto won't hold charge abs inop trac control and brake light on?

Hi everyone, i have a 05 Gto with 70K iles on it. It will not hold a charge at all. Installed a brand new battery drove it around for about an hour and after turning it off it will not start w/o jump. The abs inop, traction control light and brake light are all on kinda making me think the alternater possibly. Any ideas or feedback would be heghly appreciated, thanks

Mario

Time to get a meter to check that alternator.

check the wires behind the glove box, those go to the BCM and many GTO's have had problems, good luck.

Could be BCM, more likely the alternator. POSSIBLY both, but root cause would likely be the alternator anyhow. Also, check all grounds carefully.

sounds like a alternator problem, there is a regulator in the alternator that might not be working like it is suppossed to. Take an volt meter and test the alternator if it does not register 13 1/2 volts it is not charging. Hopefully this helps I had the same problem with my 02 camaro Z28 Ls1
