Default My refinery is hiring

I work at Pasadena refining systems inc & I thought I would spread the work we are looking for 20 or so operators. I'm not 100% but I think they require 5 years ops exp or the ptech degree. Starting pay is 24.00/hr. after you qualify on your first unit I you jump to 28/hr. go to careerbuilder.com and search process operator or call advantage staffing. I'm not lending my name out just saying we are hiring. Good luck

RIP (coker) I was here the night it blew up. Lots of fun. I was hired without my degree and finished it within two years.

We are blending our vac bottoms with furnace oil and selling as 6 oil. The fccu runs 7k per day as well so it's not really hurting us. Engineers who don't know **** except for a book is what's killing the place

I am going back for my associates in ptech next year, at college of the mainland. Do you think they would hire me as is now? I have my bachelor's of science in information technology but of course no plant experience, lol.

Most refineries will honor a bachelors with the attempt to get your ptech certificate. They give you two years to get the ptech degree after your date of hire to complete, so as long as you can get it done in time you are good.

I have a Management degree with almost 10 years experience, well in management and looking for something closer to home.

What is the best course of action to take. I would prefer to be in management as well.

Just looking at this point.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Depends on what field you have management experience in. If nothing involving direct production based experience then it's rather difficult unless you find a place that has some form of management position suited to your experience.

Well I could get the ptech with my eyes closed if need be, just wondering as Bayer was starting up a Management in training program, but then shelfed it last Summer.
