Default First time at the track with the 5.3/A4. What do you think?

Heres what the set up consists of.
2002 LM7 120k
Comp Cams 224/230 .538/.538 114+4
Hardened pushrods
Comp 918's
Spl Billet double roller timing chain
Ported MAF
Ported TB
Pacesetter ceramic 1 3/4" with ORY into a dumped bullet
Built A4 w/TCI 3600 Stall TC
Stock M6 rear w/3.42's
Tires are Firehawk wide ovals in 295/35/18

RT: .70 Sleeping I know....
60ft.: 2.0
E.T.: 14.3
MPH: 96

There was very minimal spinning coming off the line since I eased into it. I did almost Identical numbers with my old cheapo gen 1 set up. I think The tune might be a little on the conservative side being that it was only street tuned. It runs nice and smooth through out the whole rpm range but it just seems like I should be doing way better than this. What do you think?

Need to get the 60 down. Why did ease into it? Did you leave off idle or stall it up a bit.

Yes, I left off idle. First time ever with an auto at the track so I was unsure on how to do it. I was going to get a few more passes in but my friend wrecked his car right after I went so we were helping him instead.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. With my old gen1 pos I was able to get 98mph.

The trap and the time itself seem way too low/high to me as well. IMO I would have expected at least a full second faster than that.

You still have a lot of room for improvement. I put a Stock 5.3 in a Trans Am and it would run with a stock LS1 car. You would never know it was a 5.3 in his car by the way it ran.

Mod wise? cause even stock 5.7 can do better. I know im missing a few cubes but I shouldve more than equaled the power level of the 5.7 with my mods.

Let willie and them at fuel injection take a look at it. Converter and some tires will help.

Just curious what the 1/8th mile trap was?
My bolt on un tuned LT1 trapped 83 for reference.

I would start by checking your tune, any codes, then the converter.

I talked to Precision and he said he would take a look at the tune for me this week. This is the free route. If that doesnt help then I might have to look into other options. Another converter would really suck having to do it again and of course they arent cheap at all.

What was your DA like? That seems way way way low. I would expect that combo to run with a stock LS1 car and with the ASR on and launching mine low the first time I ran mine it was a 13.7 at 103. 2.2 60 foot.
