Default Texas State Highway 130 Cruise

I took my 99 Camaro SS on a cruise down Texas Highway 130 last weekend. It was a beautiful drive cruising at 85-100 mph.

It's great to get to SAR from Austin. We did a convoy Saturday night on it. Very smooth and no wild pigs in sight.

I heard it take 30 minutes LONGER to get to downtown Austin from downtown San Antonio using the tollway.

Watch out for that "automatically mails you the toll fee bullshit. Pretty stiff handling fee on the other toll roads in the area, $15 cheaper to stop and pay. Just my experience on the other toll roads.

Are they mailing tickets to speeders automatically (yet)?

Nice video -thanks for posting.

Maybe, but that's assuming accidents don't completely shut down I-35 twice on the way down. Even if it does take longer, it's worth it not to deal with the traffic (to me anyway).

There isn't anywhere to stop and pay. Perhaps there is when you exit, but the toll stations out between exits you have no choice but to drive under. Also, the other toll roads in Austin aren't used for traffic enforcement, and they say this one won't be, either. Realistically, there's nothing stopping them from mailing speeding tickets, but they aren't yet (ask me how I know )

Cruised to SAR and back last Friday night from 45/130 all the way to I-10 in the ZR1.

Surprisingly, a lot of people politely got over as I came up behind them. Except one clueless Blue Ford Excursion. They were going 77 in the left lane and I was trapped behind them for ~10 miles. A few taps on the high beams had no effect. Went past several "Left lane passing only" signs as well as one big LED panel that said the same thing. Nope, they just kept right on trucking at 77 MPH in the left lane.

When traffic on the right finally cleared, I went around and glanced over. Yep, young lady babbling on her cell phone.
