Default Picked up a new daily

I traded in my gmc truck on a 2013 5.0/6spd manual the other day. Its been a few years since I had a ford powered mustang so I want to ask anyone that has or knows someone with a new 5.0. What are the best bang for the buck mods? I'm asking this here, because I'm sure a few people are butt hurt by getting beat by one. I'm not going to crazy on this car just yet but It will get full exhaust and a tune and maybe a boss intake. I still have my lsx coupe to finish but it is hard to get motivated now that I have a new toy.

Thank you for any info

Boss intake swap, gears (if not already 3.73s), CAI, and catback are most popular from what I've seen.

@jay it will be lowered before i hit 150 miles. After a few days of OT ill get the tuner and exhaust. My 88 still needs a few more parts before i can crank it up.

You got it Tim. I'm not doing anything except lowering in until I get 500 miles on it. Are you back from offshore?

I'd recommend a new shifter. I've read and been told by quite a few that MGW is the best since it replaces both the upper and lower portion. I haven't had to money to get one yet but from the number of times I've missed a gear at high rpms it's definitely next on my list.

Do some research on modularfords.com. I have heard the boss intake is a waste of $

Buddy of mine just bought a Boss 302 and his biggest complaint is the shifter, he's missed 3rd quite a bit at high rpms.

I'm not butt hurt from getting beat by one. My GXP handles them fine

I had mgw shifters in both my 03 cobra's. They are very nice. Ill put that on my shopping list for next week. If i put a blower on it the wife would make me sell my 88 coupe. Its not worth fighting with her over it. I found out 4yrs ago its cheaper to keep her

My cousin has a 2011 with steeda cold air i believe, bbk shorties, magnaflow axlebacks, boss intake, tuneand put down 433rwhp. Tranny issues on the 11s tho he ran a best of 12.2 @ 115 or so with like an 1.8 60ft in a crappy 6spd tranny.

I personally know 3 people who have removed the boss intakes after install because they kill low end and prove no gains unless you wanna rev over 7600rpm.

It looks cool and is cheap but you can make 425rwhp with a tune, JLT intake, and off road mid pipe. My brother made 424/39x with those mods on his 2011. Good for 11.60s@119-120.

I wouldnt even bother with long tubes for the 10-15hp gain.

Keep in mind im good friend with the owner of Revolution Automotive who specialized in the new 5.0s. He tunes for Vaughn Gittin Jr and travels all over the world with him for drift competitions. I have a good source for the new 5.0 info.
