Default Neat Decorative Light Project

Little project/hobby I've been working on lately. Figured I'd share.
These were just 'test' runs to see which lights look best. That's why you see them being fed from the top. Final product has wire coming out bottom so cap can be screwed back on.
Multi-

Red-

Blue-

Red/Blue-

Blue-

Also have a strand of Green and Clear lights.

Waiting on more glass cutting bits to arrive in the mail so I can tackle more bottles.
Looking for opinions. You think people would buy these? I would probably stick to beer bottles primarily as buying liquor would get expensive quick.

Looks nice, maybe tourists dude. If you do decide to mass purchase liquor bottles, I know someone that can help you drain the bottles lol

Try putting Leds under the bottle... Usually LED lights go through glass pretty well for a good effect.

That's not the look I'm going for actually.
Although a string of LEDs would be ideal, but they are more expensive. Not in my budget at the moment.

Got bored and decided to try sanding the outside. By hand took forever. Went at it with a dremel sanding wheel then wet sanded by hand. It looks ok and very smooth to the touch.

Thanks.

Just need to get some half decent/desirable bottles, and find the right buyer so I can put money in my pocket!

So with my finished bottles sold, and while trying not to be too much of an alcoholic but obtaining more bottles I've decided to try other options...

Here's one I've been working on:

Thanks. I'm pretty proud of it. I plan to make another but a little different.

I save some bottles for you if you make me a Firebird one in white with blue lights.
I can't sleep without a night light and this would be cool.

I have a 3L empty Crown bottle that I may let go! I've held it for a year or two just bc it's cool and you can't purchase a 3L bottle in the states that I know of.

Unless you want me to make something out of it for you, I don't really want to drill a hole in a hard to find bottle! haha. Would be cool though because of the size, so if you want something in particular, let me know.

A guy I work with did this a couple years back with the decorative glass block tiles you see used in bathrooms for like shower walls and stuff. He made killing on them around Xmas time. He had problems until he got some good glass bits so don't waste your time on the cheap bits if your having problems with drilling the glass.

Looks good!
Instead of sanding, consider using some glass etching compound which is like an acid paste that will haze the glass. I got some from Hobby Lobby. You can use tape to mask off a design, wipe it on, let it sit then wipe it off.
