Default Help me choose a cam!

Help me choose a cam ill be ordering it tomorrow.
My car has lid, ls6 intake, 1 7/8 hooker headers and texas speed 3 inch y.
6 speed has stock 3.42s later in the future ported ls6 heads and 4.10
my friend has a g5x3 and its 99 ls1 intake cam only with headers and he's running 12.1 traps 112. I wanna beat it haha.
I want to be able to drive it with the ac on..
OR IF YOU HAVE A BETTER CAM RECOMENDATION LMK

228R 112lsa and call it a day. Get some 7.425 rods to help reduce any chatter.

Of all the heads/cam packages if have done, (probably around 20) the quietest one has .062 preload. More is not always better.

And I agree with that, but the base circle on the 228 is .050 smaller than a stock cam. At least the ones that I've measured.

Go custom grind and don't look back. Off shelf is great at a used price but new? Your at the custom grind cost anyway.

Finally pulled the trigger on a eps cam kit thanx to Geoff for the awesome customer service!

Geoff is a great guy and incredibly knowledgeable. He has been doing LS cams since the beginning and is just a wealth of information.
