Wink Friendly Inspection - NW Houston

Hey all,
I need to get a supercharged 416 stroker Grand Sport with full exhaust inspected. There are no codes being thrown on either. I am in Cypress area.

Please PM me any recommendations!

Thanks in advance!

Then they put it on the rollers and stick the sniffer in the tail pipe - No way around it, I'm pretty sure the car will fail 99.99% of the time if you aren't running cats lol Only cars they will plug into (and not do the sniff test) are 1996+, or if your 1996+ car will not connect via OBD, they will run it on the rollers/sniff

I agree but here is the odd part....I know of 2 guys that are running JDM motors (SR20 and RB25) and passed on the sniffer. I am more worried about failing and then having the 15 days or whatever to get it fixed. Again, new to TX so this is all new. In NY I had my guy that I paid a little extra and we figured it out.

OP....sorry x2. Your post got more responses then mine lol.

Were they running cats? Type of motor doesn't matter, just has to have the emissions equipment installed that drop the value down of: Nitrogen Oxide, Carbon Dioxide, Hydrocarbons, and Carbon Monoxide

Straight pipe on a T76 on one and the other was a 2871 turbo....no cats no emissions just drop in motors. The car has a stock LS1 from an 01 Camaro with headers and straight 3" pipe. I would hate to pay of the parts/labor to add a cat but if its needed.....

Kind of ironic. I travel a lot for work and constantly see trucks spewing literally black plumes of DPM and or other yet no issue. Yet a stock car with no cats will likely fail lol.

That's because un burned diesel is FAR less toxic to the environment than gasoline..

Eh questionable but maybe . Still produces tons of NOX emissions but it's semantics.
