3" exhaust flanges/connectors, where to buy?
I need to get flanges welded on my exuast, so I can unbolt it and take it off later. I was thinking about the kind with a triangle shape and 3 bolts, but the orielys I went to didnt have them in 3".
So does anybody know a place to get them around houston, or if theres a different style that works better as far as leaks let me know
thanks

I have had nothing but BAD experience with the traingle flanges that you speak of.... The old LT1 Hookers LT's came with the triangle flanges,,,, Since my car is dropped and i live in Pasadena (worst streets ever) I have bent the flanges several times, and now it has a big *** exhaust leak... What i was thinking of was to cut off each triangle flange from the LT and make it a slip fit, by opeining up the diameter of the y pipe... Then just putting a heavy duty exhaust clamp over it.... Been meaning to do this... Might give it a shot sometime soon...

well I have LTs and Y pipe that HAD a slip fit but somehow some pace I took it too decided to put a little tack weld to keep the y pipe on snug, but it kept leaking, so instead of trying to grind the weld off and smooth everything and go back to a clamp I had an exhaust shop weld around the connection so now my headers are attatched to my Y pipe. This is good for exhuast leaks but bad for trying to pull the transmission which is what Im trying to do. So now I need to cut the welded part and install some kind of bolted flange.
are there other types of flanges that are better? I knew the triangle style wasnt really the best, especially for clearanse issues

I'm sure if you go around asking at some exhaust shops, people will have some. I have 2 , 3" flanges but they are used on my over-the-axle pipe and not on my headers.
HPE did mine.

Triangle flanges and gaskets will blow out. I'd buy these or have a shop build some (uvalde muffler made mine) they dont use gaskets and you can bolt/unbolt as many times as you want... no leaks.

Now on the thinner cheaper flanges, I can see that because they will bend when you tighten them down.
Ball and sockets are nice, but Wiggins is better...Dont think he wants to spend that kind of money though on either setup. 3 bolt flanges will suit him just fine.

The reason why my 3 bolt flange started leaking was because my car is low and the streets in Pasadena suck, so after a couple of hits to the flanges they now leak badly... I put new gaskets on there, but they still leak.... I'm going to try and make my exhaust a slip fit one.... that should solve the problem.....

3/8" flanges do bend, i used to see **** like that all the time. And most people dont go to the extreme of 1/2" flanges since it still requires a gaskets.
BTW: Franks Supply is or already has been bought out by Napa auto parts
