Question Lt1 in a 88 model chevy truck

Has anyone done a Lt1 swap in a 88 model chevy full size truck.I already have the motor and tranny in,but the serp. pully system on the Lt1 will not clear the frame on the passenger side. The trucks original pully set up will not work because it will hit the throttle body. The motor looks good in the truck and should run better than the old tired 350 TBI that it had,I'm doing the swap for a friend and was just wondering if anyone could give some advice. Thanks in advance, Robby The motor came out of a 96 IMPALLA SS

your going to either need to use a taller motor mount or cut n notch the frame for that a/c compressor. send a few pics of your present work and i can give you a few pointers!

You need either the TPI Camaro brackets and accessories or the LT1 Vette ones. Or you can spend an *** load of cash and buy the March system. The LT1 F-body brackets put the compressor where the frame is on a truck, Vette brackets put it on top.

Don't forget the cooling is backwards, you need to get the tanks switched or use an LT1 radiator for proper cooling.

i recommend street and performance at www.hotrodlane.cc , they have the brackets to relocate your ac. its either that or get a vette motor/ thats what i have in an 83 and everything clears

Gotta have a/c, i know stupid ?. If not GM makes a a/c delete pulley for about $45, it will at least let you get the motor in and running until you can find some vette acc or something that will work. I had to notch the k-meber when I put mine in my 91 camaro and I wish I had put the cash down for the vette acc
