Default I am looking for an engineering job in houston

well im graduating from A&M (BS in mechanical/ manufacturing engineering technology) and looking for an engineering job.

im pretty flexible as to the kind of job, oilfield jobs interest me.

i live in cypress so somthing on the west side is prefered.

my TS SCI clearance should be going through soon so somthing that uses that would be a plus.

shoot me a PM or an email and ill send you a resume.

thanks

Brook, Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology?

ME's and MET's will typically have different opportunities available and different starting salaries.

My company is hiring entry level ME's (offshore oil/gas installation contractors). I can ask about MET's

Actually, there is such a company. Powerchoke is near 290 and Huffmeister and is (or was) owned by a couple of aggies. They're a small company and I understand that they've been bought up by a larger company. But the owners are still there I believe.

There's alot of companies on the NW side:

Weatherford (FM 529)
Oceaneering (next door to Weatherford)
Baker Hughes (290 and beltway, a new facility)
Varco (West Little York)
Stewart and Stevenson (Telge and 290)
Cooper Cameron (Beltway 8)

Theres tons more but those are the ones I can think of right off the top.

Oceaneering used to be in Magnolia right? or is that another location of theirs?

as for moving, that wont happen unless its a really nice 6 figure income.

i would say 55-80 sounds about right. the kind of job is going to have a big part to play there. offshore jobs tend to pay quite a bit better.

the company I work for starts out fresh grads in the $50-55K range base salary, but the bonus plan is in the 15-20% range, plus offshore time. Offshore oil/gas industry rules
