Yep I think it depends on the area of study and who has the best program for the education you are trying to obtain. As for my opinion as for which college A&M, but I would prefer UT first.

Depends on your field of study. Go to whatever school has the best program and that you like the best (make sure to visit the schools you're looking at). I would say A&M. About everyone on campus is friendly and they have degrees that rank high on a national level.
Just my two cents.

Oh yeah - it's a good school, too.

You shouldn't let anyone "tell you where to go", do your research, its an important decision, Im at a&m because its a good ag school and ill be doing something in agriculutre. Baylor has great programs as well. It all depends, as stated before, on what you would like to study, if medicine- no way in hell I would have picked a&m. It ain't all about partying either, theres more important things, good luck on whatever you choose.

LOL seems like some bias is here on this one.
Baylor- Its a good school depending on what you're wanting to study. My boss went to baylor, he's really down to earth compared to some of the grads that i've met from there. The 2 downsides to baylor would be the cost, its a private school so you're gonna get raped. the 2nd is, waco, baylor is like a jewel in the middle of a hogs anus. if you don't mind being asked for money when you go out to eat by the local crack heads, then you should be fine.
A&M has its plusses and minus' its a great school, and alot of great traditions. Even if the program you want to go into isn't working out, there is always a good one that you can fall back on. The networking is second to none. Aggies stick together, but the buddy system won't always get you to the places you need. College Station is a great city, there is alot to do in town. The problems that most people have with the town are superfiscial at best, people don't know how to connect with people in the town, they just look at it as a stop in life.
Both towns offer a good college enviroment.
Coming from DFW it was nice to get away from the big city atmosphere, the week before i moved down here, i almost got in 3 fights with people while driving, i'm glad i made the move.
but in the end its your decision.
