Jegs has some upgraded msd ones for like 139$ dont know too much on them just know its cheaper thank 525. It says it more enclosed so it will not get water in it again and burn it out. I used to have an LT1 and that crap is expensive.

You have to put it in the add to cart to see what the price is.

humm those things came out after i got mine fixed but i woudnt have minded tying one out to see if it was crap. Im sure there is some kind of warranty with it as well. But that saves almost 400 bucks. Then he would be able to save somore money then but the gm one if that one is crap.

Try Jason Cromer or Dal on CZ28.com, no ones buys those things from dealers, sure even gmpartsdirect could get you a better price. For that price you could buy a complete new MSD Pro Billet opti from Thunder for $499, Tbyrne had a GP on it for 430$. Also Thunder sells a complete GM vented for 394$.

That is for the cap and rotor only. A complete opti is more like $500, and well worth the money from what I have read on the corvetteforum. You may go to the C4 tech/performance section and do a search on it for more info. When it is time for another opti on my C4, I will definetely go with the MSD unit.

The last new GM opti I bought from Dal Slaughbaugh, and paid 220ish. That was probably back in 2002 or so. I'm sure the price is up, but he is usually half of whatever the dealer quotes.

tell the dealer you have a car club and you want to set up a discount with them of cost + 10% and the opti should be around $290 with the discount
