Default New 1/4-mile track in Lewisville?

Hey all,

I recently heard a rumor that there is going to be a new 1/4-mile track built in Lewisville that will supposedly be done late next year. Has anyone heard anything about this? I've heard such rumors before and they turned out to be false, so I'm looking for a little corroboration here before I get too excited.

I'm so sick of Ennis being closed all the time. That track sucks a dead goat's left nut. You guys in Houston don't know how great you have it!

Seriously, there needs to be another 1/4 mile track around here.

+1 on Ennis always being closed.

supposedly they are giong to be building a track on the complex at TMS here in Fort Worth, not sure if it's 1/8 or 1/4 but it'll have to be either an independant or IHRA track.

yeah, supposedly the TMS owner was trying to buy out ennis so that they could get NHRA sanctioned. Either way, thats gonna hurt business for the denton track.

if they built an 1/8 track out at TMS with the kind of money they would have for maint. and upkeep it could be very successful.

I have heard this too, a buddy of mine's dad is on the city counsil, he is the one that told me about it. I went to the site, as it is just right around the corner from my office and the site formen told me it was gonna be a recreation center type deal. Who knows though, it would be nice if it were really true.--Tony

That's what I was hearing. I heard it would be a recreation type place with a 1/4-mile drag strip, a road racing course, baseball fields, and goodness knows what else.

If I didn't mention it before, Ennis sucks. If they were just freakin' open every once in a while I wouldn't say a negative word about it.

We need to find some way to pick HRP up and move it to Dallas. It's no good down there in the swamp!

I heard the same thing. There are supposedly like 15 investors that all got together and are building the rec center right at 121 business and main street. Just behind the Pro-Tow yard. 1/4 mi track and a dirt and asphalt circle track, plus fields, etc. Should be pretty sweet, as far as I know they are getting ready to run all the sewer lines, etc. since that has to be done before they can start building.

Man, I hope this is true. That would be much closer than Ennis, and they may actually open for grass-roots racers like myself.

Anyone know whats up with the track near I think Seagoville? It's off of 175 on the way down to Cedar Creek lake.

Its actually a few blocks from Pro Tow, its off RailRoad St., like your heading toward the dump. I also heard there are a few guys that are putting this together, one of which is a huge car guy so if they do put a track in there, he should know the right stuff to put in there to make it work. Only bad thing is I think thats still the city limits, so dont know how they will handle noise regulations.--Tony

i heard friday that they are supposed to start pouring concrete soon. track is going to be open in late March, although this would not be the first time to miss schedule. cant wait untill track is open this is right around the corner from the house.

Originally I heard it was 1/8th but was extended for a 1/4. We really don't need another 1/8th mile track around here.

Sweet a track a couple of mintues from me if it happens but the only thing is sounds laws might get in its way because that is still in lewisville city limits. I guess we just have to wait this out and see what happens.
