It sucks for me because my dad is a head hancho in a big oil company.. which will hurt my families income.. bottom line is.. if people do this ****.. it eventually trickles down to the families who are employeed by them as well. Hurting their income and possibly getting laid off..

It won't ever make that much of a difference for the oil companies. A few thousand people not buying gas will not hurt them a bit.
Until there is an alternative fuel, gas/oil will always be a necessity which will keep them in business.

I was simply just curious if people had a second opinion.. I already stated I was not buying into it.. but there is no harm in asking everyone else..

i haven't paid for any gas today.. hell every day i don't have to put gas in my cars is a boycott. if know one boycotts today though, it will show that we as a ls1 gas guzzling society , are gullible and they will continue to gas rise prices... Yeah its ok if you have a ricer or something but if i put a 6.0 in place of the ls1 in my t/a i will be forced to park it. lol it's called inflation. just my opinion and my common knowledge from business class.

Cliff's notes on 1-day gas boycott - this doesn't change demand. It just changes when people buy. Even if everybody in the US were prepared and didn't buy gas today...guess what? They bought it extra yesterday, and they will buy extra tomorrow. So the gas companies sell nothing for one day, but they made up for it in extra sales yesterday and extra sales tomorrow. How does this accomplish ANYTHING? It doesn't. A boycott happens when people STOP USING something. Who cares when you buy it if you continue to use it. The only way something like this could ever make a difference is if people actually significantly reduced their gasoline consumption for a long period of time. The whole concept of a 1-day gas buying boycott being effective is retarded.
