Default What is the "most unique" car you've ever owned?

I've seen some pretty crazy hybrids and conversions out there, as well as some pretty sweet, but very unique, rides. I'm curious who on here has or has had one.

My own...

We're going to go back a ways here for this one. Back in 1999/2000, I bought a 1985 Ford Ranger from a guy in The Colony. Sounds harmless, I know, but here's where it gets good. The previous owner had dropped a (stock) 428 Cobra Jet motor into it with a matching 4spd automatic. Needless to say, it was an extremely tight squeeze in all directions, but he was able to fit all the stock equipment (headers, etc) and had custom fabricated his own engine and trany brackets. It was about 90% complete and ran great. After I purchased it, I had a custom built aluminum driveshaft built and installed and swapped in a 8.8 rear with 3.23? gears. I then had traction bars and rear sway bars installed to try to decrease wheal hop and to keep the tires planted. I also took the exhaust he had put on it and dumped it after the cabin and then put drag radials all around. The truck didn't have Power Steering so it was a PITA to drive on a daily basis, but it was 99% street legal (to the best of my knowledge) and was a fun car to drive around town.

I never dyno'ed the truck, but did take it out to Sanger several times (1/8th mile track near Denton) IIRC, the best it ever ran was an 8.1 @ 97mph. The truck itself would spin the tires the entire way down the track if you just floored it and was a burnout queen. I ended up selling it to a kid that worked at Kennedale (lived in Denton IIRC) and ended up purcashing a daily driver.

I can honestly say that it was one of the funnest, but SCARRIEST, vehicles I've ever ridden in and I still remember the time that I twisted the stock drive shaft so hard that it ripped the bolts in half going to the rear end. The noise it made nearly gave me a heart attack....

In 1978, I took delivery on a new (zero miles) 1976 Cosworth Vega. Jesus was it an ugly orange color. I traded it a year later. It was a real POS.

Saw my first Atom yesterday at Motorsports Ranch - Cresson. It is definitely unique ...

Not really unique but you dont see many anymore.

My first car was a '69 mustang fastback with a Mach I hood and wing. It had a 351 Cleveland with 4 barrel heads/intake. I bought it when I was 14 for $500 and never got it running. I literally gave it away to a buddy who wanted to restore it and its still sitting in his storage untouched.

I also had an '83 z28 with a factory fiberglass hood with functional hood vents and about 29rwhp!

Around March of 2004, finished it just before the annual Year One event. That is where it was shot for the Popular Hotrodding feature.

With the 8track and the carpeted dash!

My mustang had a blue velvet dash pad from the original owner, it was so hideous.

My GEORGOUS 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T, it was Red with a black R/T stripe, and Power bulge hood. I am such a f-n idiot for selling it when I was 20. Oh ya; did I forget to mention that it was also my first car

Hey Jeff, the next time we see each other, how about you kick me in the a$$ for selling mine and I'll kick you in the a$$ for selling yours. Deal?

I know the feeling too well.
