Default If it was you..

What would you build for a decent weekend toy? I'm thinking about picking up a high-mileage T/A or Z28 for cheap, or a roller if I can find one, and having a engine and tranny built (A3/A4) b/c I'd rather have an auto for a drag car.

If you wanna make it a project car n want somethin cheap with cash in hand you can get yourself a salvage titled car to put that motor/tranny in! Try goin to auctions you might find yourself somethin cheap but with potential!

Streetable race car pretty much. I'm going to track down another '69 and make that into more of a driver. H/C LS1/T56 swap. The wife already agreed to it

Yea I was thinking about getting a cheaper one with a salvage title. Just not sure how the registration stuff goes for one with a salvaged title here in Tx. I know a local car salesman who'll let me go with him to the auctions and buy whatever for me, just have to give him $100 or so.

Yea, I'm thinking 408 in around a 98 T/A or Z28. I'd love to be able to do a TT 408, just don't think the funds will be available to do all that right now.

The 408 will get the job done untill you can get the money to do a TT.

i've always liked how an ls1 looks in a 3rd gen camaro. plenty of room to work, a few hundred lbs lighter than a 4th gen, and dirt cheap.

i've been wanting to put an lt1 or ls1 in a 92 rs for years

Get another 67-69 Firebird and put the money into that one. At least if you get bored later you won't lose a dime on it. 4th gens are basically bottomless canyons to dump money into, compared with 1st gens which increase in value each year.
