Hmm.. Installed all the stuff on my cars myself.. But, before you ask, I'm not in the business of doing side work any longer. (sorry)

It IS a fair amount of work, so understandably the prices won't be "cheap" but it also depends on what you feel is pricey. What kind of money were you expecting to spend for the job?

Sounds about right. Not a hard project, but it does take a little time.

If you don't want to do the fronts yourself, here's something that might help save you some cash. Take the front shock/spring assemblies off the car, then take them to a place that does installs, along with the new shocks and springs. They should only charge you a nominal amount to compress the springs and setup the new ones. Then you can take your assembled shocks and springs home and re-install them yourself. If you're using adjustable shocks, make sure you pay attention to how they orient the adjusters, so you can reach them once they're installed on the car. The spring compression is really the only "hard" part of the install (unless the top nut on the passenger side is rusted), and the only one you need a special tool to do.

I'm not the most mechanically inclined person, but I've done my own car twice (upgraded shocks after using a set of cheapies for a while) and did a friend's car as well, all in my garage.

Do it your self, the back suspension is really easy, not a big deal. What is the biggest challenge is the fronts, they are a pain in the ***. Best way to do the fronts is pull the assemblies out, take them over to a place that does springs and shocks, and have them pull apart and recompress the new springs on and put it back together. Then go and swap it on, or rent a spring compressor and do it your self.

I had a Meineke shop on the south side install the spring, struts and shocks for 150 a while back. Call the meineke store on telephone rd and ask for Ceasar..if he is still around.

Honestly I would charge a burger and fries for an install like that but I hate dealing with that stupid nut on top of the front struts. It may come off quick or it may be rusted to hell so I don't like dealing with it .

usually people on the boards do it for roughly 100-150. 400 is way to much IMO.
