Not a bad deal. This setup will easily go another 60k miles on bolt ons and atleast 40k on cam only setups.

The slave needs to be an 01-02 though.

Jason @ TDP had me pick up a slave w/the revised design (01-02 came with them) when he did my LS7 install.

He said he also shimmed it so it wouldn't engage right off the floor board.

If you have any questions I'm sure he'd answer them better than I can.

Oh I got ya. I bet he had you pick that up simply because of the new design. As far as the physical concept goes though you can technically use the older slave.

Not from what I understand. Something about the location of hydraulic lines IIRC.

I had a pretty good run with a deer one night.

Shim is totally a preference guys and I'm telling you that you can run this with the old slave. The only changes in design were internal and they look identical on the outside. I didn't shim my ls7 clutch and engagement suits me just fine. I've seen both ways though so I would just give it a shot without a shim and if you absolutely hate then go back and toss the shim there.

Wait a second. An LS7 setup only runs 420 new with the flywheel? I was under the impression that they were more... like close to 1000K.

LS7 setup is pretty good for bolt ons, isn't it?
