Default Buying New Truck, Need Some Help!

Let me know what you guys think.

Silverado or Sierra 5.3L (Texas Edition)

Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi (Lonestar Edition)

5.7L Toyota Tundra

What would you buy and why!?

I am leaving this truck stock and looking for a nice reliable truck that I can run till all the wheels fall off.

ram 1500 5.7l hemi. cause american trucks > jap trucks.

plus..its got a hemi..

but seriously if im going to buy a truck, its going to be american.

you changed your options... to a silverado.

i think my choice would be the silverado then, due to the mpg.

well each truck has its own good things and bad. I personally have a dodge and love the interior space. However the way gas prices are going the ram is the worst choice as per mpg. the silverados are nice trucks and interior room is getting bigger. There mpg isnt too horrible as well. The tundras have power without a doubt but their advertised mpg is about the same as the ram. I do believe their resale value would be the best of the three tho.

If I had to pick one of the three I would pick the Silverado due to its a good medium in every category (room, mpg,hp). The silverado also has a rather decent resale value as Dodge is the worst in that category.

The towing capacity is the greatest with the toyota. My dodge tows rather well but I am sure other makes have better towing capacity.

Of the 3 choices I would go GM because Dodges are junk and Toyota is not American. I personally like Ford, but that was not an option.

The Ram's resale value sucks *****.

I'd go withthe Silverado out of the 3 you listed.

FastB doesn't know what he's talking about. Dodge's aren't junk. He's obviously just biased.

I agree with Ross....dodges are definitely not junk! We have 3 06 rams a 4.7, a hemi and a cummins diesel and not one has had a single problem. I have 36k miles on my 4.7 and it has yet to let me down...the diesel tows anything without a sweat....got 16mpg pulling a 34ft travel trailer....

the resale is horrible tho

New Silverado with 6.0. Put a nice set of heads and a big cam and alittle juice, and you'll have a daily driver...

Daily Driver huh. That is a sweet set up there. It's really hard not to go out and buy a dodge because 1st I think inside they are nicer then Chevy ( NOT GMC ) and they have a Lifetime Powertrain. Does it really matter what resale is when you have that kind of warranty? The Silverado has been the one calling my name and I have test drove it 3 times. Hard to make a decision with Dodge throwing me a truck for 4k cheaper at 0% and a lifetime warranty.

I have a 04 chevy now and I have never had a problem with it. That is why it is my first choice. My buddy has a Tundra and it is a very nice vehicle. I just can't sign the papers without more input on Dodge and Toyota.

dodge's resell value is shitty for some reason.

but they do make a good truck in my opinion, no problems with my sisters when she had it, she had a 99, and i have a 5spd 01 1500. no problems yet.

and i get pretty good mpg.

I have an '06 Tundra with the 4.7 V8 and have absolutely no complaints about it whatsoever. Pulls trailers like they're nothing. Pulls the car trailer/boat no problems. Pretty good gas mileage too, around 18-19 mixed highway/city. Extremely comfortable.

I had an '07 GMC 5.3, an '06 Ram diesel, and an '06 Ram Hemi. I now have an '08 Silverado HD diesel. The Dodges are the best bang for the buck, but the resale does suck and they are a little cheaper feeling/driving than the GM trucks. The new body style GM trucks are excellent trucks and ride very solid and smooth. The GM truck got slightly better mpg than the Hemi did, and just felt like it was built better than the Dodge did.

really? I do know that pre 06 on the 2500's they had a diff chassis/suspension. Then in 06 they came with a new revitalized chassis set up. The ride was highly improved. Low resale value can be a plus for you though if you do in fact plan on going used. If you are looking for a new truck dont rule out dodge...but haggle their price as if you dont it will bite u in the *** if you ever plan on gettin rid of it.

obviously the resale has been said a few times, I would go for the toyota honestly and I own a gm, the new gm trucks are freakin nice as well as the dodges, but I think dodge is keeping to the "truck" feel and the gm rides like a caddy basically and has tons of hp if you get the max version, somethin like 367hp I think. Honestly I would be looking at a diesel if I were you

I've had an 05 3500 dually diesel, 06 3500 dually diesel, and now have a 07 1500 Hemi, although they have a lower resale value, they are also cheaper, so it's a wash, but as far as the powertrain goes I like the dodge, but I find it's the little things, interior ect. that are cheaply made on the dodge, also the Hemi aint what it's cracked up to be, my 3500's would walk that ***. Imo if your planning on keeping it Id go with the silverado, but thats just an opinion as I haven't owned one in a while.
