Default board still slow

I can't take it. I am spending less and less time on tech as the only chances I really get anymore are afternoons/evenings and the board is so slow I just give up. It's not like dial up or anything but I spend more time waiting than anything else. Just recently it timed out and I got a "server too busy" message instead of the page.

Is there an improvement in this area in the near future?

Yeah, I know, the site is free. It seems to get plenty of funding though. I do my fair share of recommending sponors to people for their purchases.

I started reading the link. Very interesting. Very complicated. I see........

Server loading and disk load management isn't entirely an easy task, especially when you're constrained by software like we are here. The database isn't exactly the best around, but to run the board we do, we have to run the database. So....our hands are tied.

Yeah, it's more complicated than I thought. I think I secretly knew that.

I've noticed something else from time to time lately. It's happening as we speak....I will read all current replies to a thread but it still doesn't think that I have. I end up losing track of what I have and have not checked on because the board tells me I havn't checked any of them. Then I can't click the go to first unread post arrow because it sends me way up to the top. If I click the go to last post arrow I have to scroll back up and look around to see where I belong. Just a slight annoyance, made worse by my very old and abused mouse that doesn't always work very well.
