Default 1993 LS1 Anthracite RX-7

Year: 1993
Make: Mazda
Model: RX-7
Price: $15500
Mileage: 89000
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): VA
Color: Gray
Transmission: Manual
Drivetrain: Rear Wheel Drive

As much as it hurts me to do this, it's time to move on away from my project. The swap is completely done and has been driven on the street for about 1,000 miles. Currently it is down and does not move under its own power. There is a clutch issue at the moment where the pedal is stuck to the floor. I tried to build back clutch pressure, but after trying to bleed the system of air, it loses pressure all over again. I believe it is a blown slave. The car also has an un-traced draw on the battery. There is a quick disconnect on the battery that I just undo whenever I park the car. Whenever you get back in, you just reconnect it and start the car and drive. It resets the radio, but as I don't listen to the radio, it never bothered me. I drove the car the entire time I had it on the road with the disconnect and never had any problems until the master cylinder went out.

Time constraints due to classes and work, coupled with the loss of my garage that I did my work in are forcing me to sell this car.

I've tried to make this a very clean swap and did not cut any corners. I did most all the work myself with the help of a friend. I have a full picture album documenting my swap from receiving the car up until the point of completion.

The details are as follows:

As soon as I received the car I immediately stripped out the blown rotary and trans and sent it for paint and body work. It was professionally painted by a friend of mine. The color I chose was Anthracite, a Toyota Supra color. He sprayed every panel off the car and replaced all the weather stripping. Engine bay and jams were painted as well. Before painting the car was gone over and all dings and chips were taken out. Though now it does have a few dings from daily driving here in Virginia. The paint is basically brand new, only 1000 miles on it and I've taken very good care of it.

Engine/Swap components:
2000 Z28 Camaro engine and T-56 with around 68k miles
Hinson subframe, transmission brace, and torque arm
Urethane Engine and Transmission mounts
Shortened drive shaft from Hinson
Hinson Race Fuel system with adjustable FPR
Hinson adjustable Power steering kit (brings the pressure down from the GM pump to not overload the Mazda rack)
Wilwood modified Master Cylinder
JTR 1 3/4" Long Tube headers
Custom Mighty Mouse 2 1/2" Y-pipe with High Flow Cat
Samberg Version 2 Dual Fan radiator kit / Cold Air intake
Fuse boxes and battery relocated to bins behind driver and passenger seat

Wheels/Suspension/Exterior:
Wheels: Work Meister SP1's Polished
Front: R-Disk 18x9 +43
Rear: O-Disk 18x10 +43
Tires: Bridgestone Potenza 050As
Front: 255 35 R18
Rear: 288 30 R18
Megan Racing 32-way adjustable Coilovers
Work Locking Lug-Nuts
99 Spec Front Lip (Off the car for towing purposes)
Mazda "Wing" Emblems Front and Back
DIY 99 Spec Tail Lights
Semi-tinted DRL/front signals
Resprayed all black body panels that had faded

The seats have been reupholstered and are like brand new. They were pretty rough when I got the car. The rest of the interior is in great shape.

The car does not have AC, or cruise control.

The engine runs great and shifts well, and the car is extremely fast and is definitely an head turner. Whenever this car goes out be ready for massive amounts of compliments and questions. It won't take much work to get it back to where it needs to be. I just don't have the time, so my loss is your gain. The car will be sold as it sits, I'm asking $15,500 the price is justified by the quality parts and work that have been done to this car. And deductions have been made based on the current immobile state of the car. I have everything laid out in a spreadsheet for pricing. If there any questions I will be happy to answer them. Serious Buyers may PM me for my entire photo documentation of the swap and to get my contact information.

The car is in Richmond, Virginia 23238

Now for the pictures

It was very cold, hence the foggy exhaust.

Wow, even with the clutch issue & battery issue you're basically giving this car away for $15,500. GLWS. It's a beautifully well-done LS1 FD.

I know its sold but still want to comment on a beautiful car, i hope you got every penny of asking price. The Slave cylinder went out on my camaro in sig at 30k. It's not cheap. But LS7 clutch came next. It's damn bad luck. But again man, beautiful RX-7, would have driven your way had I been stateside. Cheers!
