Did the dealer offer $20,000 even ... ? Just remember that is really $21,400 depending on your sales tax rate ... you only pay sales tax on the trade difference. GA Laws will change in 2013 though .... they will be requiring a one-time Tag Fee of 7% of what the car is worth (new or used, dealer or private) with no subsequent yearly Ad Valorem tax ever again. No more buying used to save sales tax in GA!

With virtually any high mileage vehicle, a dealer will only give Black Book as a trade-in which is NADA's reference to "rough trade-in". I imagine the deal on the Acadia was decent .... if the deal was you paying close to MSRP on the Acadia and receiving Black Book for your trade then go to another dealer.
