Default Sweetest pit bull stray in need of home (free)

A pit bull stray was wandering around my jobsite and it turns out to be as sweet and friendly as they get. It's a male, probably about 40-50 lbs, somewhere around 2 years old. Needs a good home, everybody that comes across it can't believe how sweet he is, but no takers yet. The dog will need to be neutered. He appears healthy, took a jog with me last nite. Very timid and shaky but warms up to people really quickly...

Played really well with my female dog, but my dog was being a bitch and territorial, on top of that, we have a cat.

You will not be disappointed in this dog. Will post pics in a little. PM or whatever if you're interested, and most importantly, responsible and dog-loving.

I'm in Rancho Santa Margarita, kind of a distance, but if there's a good home, we can make it happen.

Thanks 59.

masterz28, I will be leaving town tonight, but my wife said she'd be more than willing to drive the dog out that way since it's close to her mom's house (Redlands). I swear, this dog is too nice. Just wants to please, it's a little (edit:very) submissive, definitely not alpha. Playful, yet not aggressive and doesn't use it's mouth/teeth to play. Responds quickly to commands but needs some teaching. We are trying to slowly get it accustomed to the cat, he appears a little too curious for our tastes. If we have him around long enough, he'll know right from wrong.

Last night was his second night sleeping over, first time in the house. He took to sleeping in the crate very well. He slept like a rock and didn't want to come out this morning . So that's good news for people who would intend to or need to crate him. He held his pee forever, and didn't trying pissing in the house, appears potty-trained.

+1 on pits being awesome dogs!

2 myself! 1 from a pup (boy 88lbs) and 1 girl that was dropped off on the side of the road (girl 65lbs)
i couldnt ask for better dogs.. AWESOME around kids and other people.. as long as people dont come on our property uninvited they are ok, they are VERY VERY smart dogs and pick up on things QUICKLY.. neither have met another dog they did not like/aggressive towards, both have met plenty of dogs aggressive towards them!

hope you find him a home!

just remember, these dogs are vicious killers that should be killed off......

It's sad that the media promotes that type of attitude towards them too.
I can in all honesty think of more PEOPLE that should be killed off than I can think of pits.

Long story VERY VERY short.. you will get the idea though.. this is true..

a man was attacked while walking down the road by a golden retriever... he received almost 2 months of care in the hospital.. the local newpapers wrote about it on the 3rd page..

fast forward 1 month later..

1 state over a woman was walking down the road and for whatever reason ended up on a couples lawn.. they owned a pit bull and it bit the lady on the hand and caused a "scrath".. they came with an ambulance and gave her medical attention on spot (a bandage) and sent her on her way..
this story my headlines on all of the major news stations and did a full cover story on "vicious pit bulls"

this is only 1 of MANY incidents that have happen like this.. the media blows it WAAAAAY out of proportion.. my boy got attacked while going to dog training school and has a nice little scar on his head, this was also by a golden retriever.. he has been lunged at when i go to my mothers work (Vet. hospital) by countless other dogs..
both of my pits go out on a regular basis to play with my two smaller dogs, 1 being 14lbs and one being 11lbs..

just some interesting info along with a bump is all!

You guys are on par with my sentiments towards dogs and pits...

This poor guy is still with us, no takers at the moment. Someone does want the dog by next weekend if it's still around, supposedly. In the meantime, he is starting to consider our home his home. Ugghhhh, this is much harder than I imagined.
