Highest Theft Rate City For F-bodies, in SoCal
I've been adding more my Z28 lately. It's not my dd (after 9 years)anymore. Now that I have more $$$ and time vested in the car, I have a choice where to drive it. So what cities should I stay out of? Theft wise of course. What city has your (or a buddies) F-body been stolen or broken into. I have 99 Z, SS body upgrade, CME, Z06 wheels.
I know it might bring back bad memories. Please let me what city to stay away from with my Z28.

if you pull into a city and feel its sketch, you probably shouldnt park around there. also dont go places like a sporting event or something and make it obvious your going there, here in SF i heard many cars stolen that way

SS body upgrade is not a Huge mod (Hood and spoiler). Not downing your car or anything. Stay out of Ghetto LA area's or any Ghetto area's for that matter. I understand you live in Pasadena but its not that hard to get a feel for what cities to stay out of.
ZO6 wheels are not really an attention getter.
Im in the SGV area and F-bodies are of no desire to anyone around here. Im on CCW's, Full system and Double Din and never ever had a problem.
knock on wood.
When I had my civic, 4 break ins and 1 time stole the whole car.

Thanks for all the info. Didn't want to get my car appraised in a thread but oh well. Not saying my Z is the "S" but all the time finding parts, time on body and painting, bloody knuckles etc... It's worth more than my upgrades $$$ wise.

No place is safe. If a thief truly wants your car, they will do anything they can to take it. Fifedogg's was stolen right from his driveway on the end of a cul-de-sac in a pretty nice area...
You can install a starter kill switch and/or a fuel pump kill switch, and get an alarm with a pager. I know one person who has a working proximity sensor wired into his alarm system.
If they can't start it up and are determined, they will tow it if they can. The steering columns in these things are nearly identical to 1980s-vintage GM columns, so it's not like they have extra security enhancements to prevent the column from being busted and the wheels being straightened out.

your car can be stolen anywhere, but I would avoid the following areas:
Santa Ana
Long beach
Pomona
parts of LA
Basically any bad neighborhood. Ive heard of cars being stolen from nice neighborhoods like San Juan Capistrano or Beverly hills too, but its much less common (and even less common to happen to a camaro).
