Fair Price for this T/A?
Specs:
1998 T/A
Non Ram Air
6spd
50-60k
Adult Owner - Well cared for - No blemishes in or out
Stock wheels + set of chromed 18" Vettes. Both with good tires
Needs 4 Rotors
The only blemish is it was Lemon Lawed in 2000 at 15k. I'm confident the car is not a lemon b/c its been on the road for 10 years but I'm concerned with the potential trouble when I goto re-sell it. I only plan to keep it for 1.5-2yrs.

If you are going to buy it for super cheap. Then it might be worth it. But just like any car... people don't feel safe about it unless the title is clean. I wouldn't buy it unless you plan to keep it for awhile. Lemon on salvaged its gonna be hard to sell. It just scares people away.
I'm sure the car is fine... if it made it this far. but, it better be a good deal. JMO

This is just a guess, but was the engine replaced? Maybe that's the reason for the low miles(for a 98) and lemon branding.
But in general if I were buying a car only to re-sell it 2 years later, I would stay away from lemon and salvage titles...but to answer your question...4.5k

What's unfortunate is that I don't care about the Lemon on the title at all, but I am concerned with the re-sale value....so I guess I am concerned.
Here I am interested in buying the car and want to get it cheap (or not at all) b/c of the Lemon brand yet I don't even care about the fact it was a previous Lemon car (functionality wise). Its the damn Scarlet Letter
If I wanted to get it right now I'd have to pay $8500 which was a fair price until I saw the title check. Grrr.....

Jeez I really wasnt expecting the title to have this much of an impact. I was seriously considering paying $8k. I guess I'd have a lot more trouble re-selling it that I thought. You would think that after 10 years the Lemon branding would lose it's impact, I guess not.
Thanks for the feedback tho. I've decided to back out of my offer and hold out and see if he's willing to sell for less if he does not get any bites in the near future.

The mileage is what made me choose 6-7k. For that milage 6-7k is a good deal and being a lemon might not affect resale so much.
If you contact the state that declared it a lemon, they keep records of why it was declared a lemon. I'd contact them, get documenation on what was wrong with the car and what was done to fix it.
I bought a lemon car that was a lemon because the owner took it to a dealership 3 times about leaking t-tops. I took a water hose to it and couldn't get one drop to leak.
If it was something major though, I'd walk.
