Not sure how many WS6 Formula verts were built compared to WS6 T/A verts in 1997 but a buddy of mine's father just purchased a 1997 TA WS6 vert. It is also red with about 41K miles, A4, tan top, near new condition with a Flowmaster muffler being the only mod. I believe he paid around 9-9.5K for it. He wouldn't tell me the exact price. Around here a WS6 LT1 car is rare let alone a drop top.

I know it may be rare and worth alot, but i think its not selling because it butt *** ugly! I HATE any vert bird or camaro, and i especially HATE the formula style bumpers.

Why does it have the 16" ABS wheels and not the 17" WS6 wheels? I didn't know they made a WS6 Formula Convertible. And where is the WS6 emblem?
EDIT: I just looked at the Formula build numbers and there were only 41 Convertible WS6's made in 97. So if it is a real WS6 then it is very rare, but my first questions still stand, where is all the WS6 stuff?

I'd like you post where your info source for curiosity sake. I find it hard to believe that a WS6 car had 16" rims with no badge. After all it's a performance and handling package.

Im pretty sure the LT1 cars have the RPO codes in the glove box, unless it switched in '97 (mine are in the glove box in my 95, I know LS1 cars are in the door jam)
and the convertibles DID NOT have 17's or badges-but you can still be certain by checking for the "WS6" RPO code and/or by running the VIN.
The reason you've never seen this before on a ws6 is because you've never seen one before
This is a VERY rare car. They made 41 WS6 Formula Drop tops in '97, and only 2 in 1998! Total of 43 4th gen WS6 convertible drop tops are on the planet...Convertible WS6 T/A's, on the other hand, production numbers between 97-02 where over 6,000 cars.
Honestly, it should be worth around 10k. Screw KBB, they don't take into account that it's a rare collectors car-they only see it as a 13 year old car with low miles. Can you sell it for what it's worth right now?-Probably not sadly.

My 97 is on the door jamb as well. Since it is the FAR BETTER LOOKING FORMULA (j/k)...
The WS6 Formulas were rare to start, whether vert or not. For some reason, folks liked all that plastic crap hanging off the TAs and weighing it down.
Still, its only an LT1 and its only 13 years old. I'm sure the dealership where it sits is asking more like $18k for it, b/c that is what they do.
