Default Blue Book Values

I found a 2000 WS6, M6, clean excellent condition 55k miles. Dealer is asking almost 20k for it, kbb value retail is 12k tops. Is there a "rare" factor the KBB doesn't take into account regarding these fbodies? Or is this dealer just out of their minds? Thanks.

20k is retarded high for that car. Judging by your user name I'm guessing this is NY, and granted, the prices are always higher around here, but I wouldn't pay over 10-11k for that car as you describe it.

Yeah I'm from NY, but this is listed in SC. I wasn't sure if there we selling for over blue book value because they stopped making them. Thanks for the response.

Yeah man shop around. Especially if you're willing to travel. Keep an eye on the vehicle classifieds in this forum. You'll get a MUCH better deal on here then you will at any dealerships. Cars like that go for 10-11k every day on here.

Stupid high!! He is hoping for that uninformed buyer to stop in and take advantage of them. 10-11 is more fair.

Yeah I'm trying to pick one up from the south after witnessing what salt does to cars up here in NY.

Nuts! A buddy of mine picked up an immaculate C5 with the same miles for less than that last summer.

There is sort of a supply and demand issue with these cars, and a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, regardless of what KBBsays, but 20k is nuts for a standard WS6. Maybe, and just maybe, if it was a Firehawk, 30th An, or CETA, but even then 20k is high for those miles. They're low, but not super low.

A dealer around here that kind of specializes in these cars has one with around the same mileage for 13,995, I just saw it only the other night. Still a little high IMO.

I agree with everyone here. It is insanely high priced. The seller is looking for a real sucker. The $20,000 price range is reserved for 'ultra low mileage' near showroom condition cars. I would certainly consider paying $20,000 for a one-owner 'less than 10,000 miles' MINT example. This ain't it!

Since you asked about some pricing guides, you are quite correct about rarity not being built into some pricing. Also extremely low mileage pricing is not available. When one of those unusual mileage cars comes along, a 'premium' is involved over retail pricing.
