thinking of selling.. maybe.. 00 z28
I drive it every day now and have put a good 10k miles on it, including long road trips.
I love the car and 99% of the time it's a real joy to drive.
I have a lot of plans for the car, but I'm at a bit of a stopping point once I get my tune in and wanted to weigh my options.
so here's the breakdown:
2000 Z28 A4, 135k+ on the clock, T-tops, leather ebony interior, gu2 posi rearend.
the good:
*new p/s setup
*new moog tie rod ends
*new cats
*new 02 sensors
*SLP lid
*new ngk plugs, new wires, fuel filter etc.
*new alpine stereo with sony sail speakers (front speakers still stock.)
*hawk hps pads
*russell stainless steel brake hoses
*new master cylinder
*new "black depot" headlights
*new clear front turn signals
*ss 10 spoke wheels, 8k miles on "new" tires
*tuned by HPS 293whp/313wtq
*OE SS hood
*Black Berger panel "mod."
the bad:
*rearend is noisy in turns, hasn't gotten worse/louder in 10k miles, doesn't seem to be leaking, just something I observe.
*piston slap when cold, valve noise when cold as well.
*RMS leaks a little bit.
* needs a new a/c compressor.
*no floor mats
*wear n tear on paint, but overall shiny. Garage kept now at home and parking garage at work.
*pass. power window is slow.
whattyall think? I can fix a lot of it's ailments before trying to sell it, I know it's not something mainstream consumers would be into with the list of problems here, but I'm not about to lie to someone.
I'm not real ambitious to get rid of it. I like my car.

anything under 6 and I'll part it out first.
mileage doesn't matter on a car like this, its just a number on the clock.
guess I'm keeping it.
or parting it out...
if it needs so much tending to how can I drive it every day?
also, thanks for the help. I'd NEVER let a car like this go for so little.

you find cars like this under 6 often?
I don't. I found ONE.. and I tried to jump on it and the sob STILL sold it out from under me.
this car was just under when I got it and it was in a BAD way. I've put a lot of money into it to get it where it is now, and am going to continue to put money into it. Even though it's LITERALLY throwing money away apparently if the car will NEVER be worth $6k.
Anyway, it's not for sale, and wont ever be I suppose.. so I guess a mod can close this thread. I am absolutely not giving this car away.
Thanks for the info.

yeah bud i think your better off keeping it, one reason i wont sell my car i have to much in it and i couldnt replace it for what i can sell it for, honest high mileage camaros are going pretty cheap these days, and mint ones arent going for all that much eithier,
