Default 02 Z06 motor $500?

Hello, I have a chance to pickup a 50k 02 Z06 motor complete intake to pan for $500. But heres the deal it was pulled because of a slight bottom end knock. Never the less I'm still picking it up but I'm just curious if you guys think its a fair price or not?

Thanks.

That is quite cheap, but you may have to do some work it sounds like... But i'm sure you already know that. Good price though, you could sell the LS6 intake for $300 alone so I say go for it!

LS6 intake $300
LS6 Heads $450

There is $250 more than you payed and you still have the ls6 shortblock.

Bring along a 24mm wrench with something to use for leverage, a 5/8" spark plug socket with ratchet and 3" extensionand bring along a friend to hold the motor while you manually turn it over via harmonic balancer bolt, better yet if it has oil and a starter on it do a compression test. Anything above 175 is good. If the motor is not locked up and none of the valves are hitting then your block, crank, pistons, heads, and all that should be good. A rebuild kit with all your bolts, bearings, rings, and gaskets is around 6-700. Labor can range from a coulple 6-packs to the GM rated 39.xx hour job at an assrape/hour rate. Off this site i recently bought a cammed LS1 longblock from oil pan to valve cover with LS6 intake and what not for 1000 dollars. After selling my blown motor for parts, selling the ls6 intake for 400 dollars, and selling my old heads and what not I ended up having about 400 dollars in a running cammed LS1. You can definately get your money from this motor. Youd prolly have about 1500 in a rebuild from a shop but damn well worth it. You know that this motor is not going to be driveable the way it is, or else it wouldnt have been removed. Also... make sure it is an LS6 and not either an LS1 with LS6 intake (still damn worth the money) or even a ls1 (still worth it)

LS1-LS6 blocks will bring 400 easy. As long as it not a saltwater flood you can probably salvage it.

I would buy, and I don't even need it.

Like mentioned in a previous post, as long as it's not locked up or mangled from the inside. It is well worth the 5 Bills.

Real good long block to start a build on.

Around here I can't even find LS parts, period.

Everything I on my car had to be ordered from where ever else. It's weird I have the only LS Camaro in town, there is like 2 within 50 miles.
