Question Polished Aluminum Sealer?

I was wondering if anybody knows of some type of sealer or clearcoat for polished wheels. I dont mind polishing them but I'd like to have them last longer you know? So if anybody knows of something or an idea let me know thanks

Add me to the list, just got polished TTII's last week

I've heard good things about Zoop but $100 is a little pricey

Anybody tried Poorboys? its not too expensive and I've read some good reviews on it.

Duplicolor makes some good stuff that you can pick up at Autozone. I have used it on a few cars. Just make sure you follow the instructions and do 2 or 3 coats. I even cooked mine in the oven to make sure it bonded well.

http://www.zoops.com/zoopseal.asp is what some of our customers have used.

I have no personal experience with it, some of our customers have spoken very highly of it. As with any product, follow the directions carefully for good results.

So is this Duplicolor stuff like a clear coat? How has it held up and for how long? What happens if it chips or goes bad and can it be taken off without to much trouble?

Zoop is the only sealer I've heard good things about. Never used personally though.

Sorry, I've been out of town a few days.Yes it is a clear coat. It holds up great. I've had it on my 96 for 4 years now and now chips or peeling. As long as you polish the wheels good before you apply it I think you will be pleased. Like I said just follow the istructions on the can for best results.

Check out www.metalgloss.com I use their sealer on my Boyds (polished aluminum) and I've been really happy with it. They sell a polish and a sealer (which you mix the two when sealing). My wheels look really good for about 6months after using the sealer granted my car is a weekend warrior, but oxidation is oxidation. The polish and sealant isn't overly thick which makes it easy to apply. It's also not overly expensive so it's worth trying out, chances are you'll be happy with it.
