Summit Star Weights!
Hey guys, i just ordered some summit stars. I know a lot of people want to know what they weigh compared to Welds. I ordered 15x4's in the fron and 15x8's in the rear. The shipping weight is 16lbs on the front and 19lbs on the back. I gonna weigh them when they get here without the boxes. I figured 17lbs a piece on the backs and 14lbs a peice on the fronts. Not that bad
15x8s-wheel + center cap= 15lbs
15x8s-w/ 275/50/15 ET Street Radial = find out in a few days
15x4s-wheel + center cap= 14lbs
15x4s-w/165/80/15 Kuhmos= 30lbs
Kinds wishing i would have gotten the 15x3.5 now

Weight is not that heavy in comparison to other street/strip setups. Now comparing them to drag setups, its very heavy and is like leaving an easy 75lbs of converted weight on your car...since its considered a street setup though, its hard to compare usage.
Biggest thing is they cost SOOO much less then other street/strip designs, I know I can't come close to building something that inexpensive, so from a cost comparison it's a better deal. From a design standpoint, its not that good and it's an import item which doesn't support US manufactures. In the end, you get what you pay for. As long as the user in the end is happy that is all that matters. Poster seems rather pleased so that is most important.

i have for almost two years now. they are a solid casting, not hollow two piece design like the welds, so less prone to warpping on the street. not saying Daily driving a spooled rear end, no front sway bar, fats and skinnies is recomended. but i do it without issue and i live on a winding country road. the fronts with 165 radials were 18lb less per wheel and tire less than the factory 16x8's with 245's. deffinatly would be less with a higher priced drag wheel and front runner tire. but a worthwhile savings of wieght non the less. plus more streetable IMO

That right there is a 15x10 with a 6.5" BS. I've got 28x11.50R15 ET Streets mounted on it right now. They don't rub but I am running adjustable suspension, BFH'd the inner wells and rolled the fender lips.
I am on a tight budget and basically just wanted the Big/Skinnie look more than anything. And for the price these wheels worked great. My rear calipers were already ground for Prostars and fronts did not need a spacer or anything.

Alright guys, i got the front in today, and surprising they only weighed 14lbs with a center cap. Then i weighed them after the 165/80/15 kumhos were mounted and it was exactly 30lbs wheels and tires. I think the 3.5 prolly would have been about 1 pound less
