Default Are there any American made tires left?

I would like to support my country and the American worker...but are there any tires not made overseas? Goodyear? Michelin? Which ones are really made here?

My Good Years that I bought for my V were . . . . . . On TireRacks site they list the country of origin on all tires in the "specifications" tabs.

Well I think Michelin is like made in France or Canada.
Goodyear is made in America.
BF Goodrich is made in America if I am not wrong.

Yeah, there's a tire factory on the out skirts of West Tyler, TX. I think it's called springfield tire factory.

Michelin is a French owned company. Michelin also owns B.F. Goodrich and Uniroyal.

Continental/General is a German owned company.

Goodyear owns Dunlop and Kelly, Republic etc. but I am not sure what nationality the company is.................

...There's a giant Cooper tire plant near Dayton, OH...

And, Kumho is getting ready to build a plant right here in Macon, GA.

I just bought a set of General tires and they were made in the Czech Republic...

Just cuz a company is foriegn owned doesn't mean they dont support american jobs... not saying all do, but the ones with plants here... I work for Shell, which isn't an "american" company, but they sure as hell employ a **** load of us americans.
I'd say focus on where the tire is made (like the original post says), not who owns the company.

Its only going to get worse. With this new world order crap! But there correct, focus on the plant location. Most company's are in bed together anymore.

I'm not 100% positive, but I think the Mickey's are made by Cooper Tire, in Ohio.

My father works for Bridgestone has since 1974 (refuses to own a set and will tell that to anyone) and to the best of our knowledge the only company that makes 100 percent of the tires in the U.S. is Cooper, but this type of information is hard to pin down for the average consumer and for a very good reason. Goodyear has factories in Mexico and Southeast Asia

^^^ This. The size GS-D3's I run are made in the US, some are made in Germany, others in China.
