Default Ruff Racing 278

So I got a hell of a deal on a set of 19" RR 278s. They were 8.5 all the way around. I wanted the staggered 9.5 in the rear but for the price I took them. I read the sticky on the tire info but i called discount tire and they told me I could put 275s on all the way around with no rubbing. My car is not lowered but soon will be. And i want to add the big brake mod. So will 275s work on all 4 corners or should I go with something like a 255. I wouldnt mind keeping them all the same size for rotation purposes. But if two sizes make a big difference its not that big of deal either. Just a summer car!

Thanks

You'll need 275/30/19s, which if you haven't priced them, are expensive. As for fitment, the SS and WS6/Firehawk all came with 275/40/17s from the factory which is the same width and height as the 275/30/19s, so fitment won't be an issue as long as the backspacing on the ruff's is correct.

Don't do the 255s, they are too narrow and won't look right.

Very nice. Thanks for the reply.
275s all the way around would look good. I looked up 275/30/19 on discount and found the Top 5 for under 250 each. kinda pricey but not to bad. I have only ran yokohamas before. What would you guys recommend out of these 4?
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S

Falken Azenis ST115

Yokohama S.drive

Goodyear Eagle GT

Mostly just daily driving. im going to order me sum slicks for my stock wheels for the track.

thanks

Are you sure you can put 275 on an 8.5 wheel? 8.5 is the width of the stock T/A wheels and I had 245s on them, but thought 255 would be the widest to go on them...

Note that we are talking about 8.5" wheels. You can put a 275 on there, i've done it...but I don't recommend it. That's a pretty damn high tire to wheel ratio. I mean i've run them up to 140 and run several sanctioned events with them, and had zero problems...but I still don't like it.

I have a set of ruff racing staggered 19's on my car that i bought from a friend and they are 8.5's up front and 9.5's in the rear. I run 245/35/19 up front and 275/30/19 out back and they look great and fit perfect. I personally wouldn't run anything larger than a 255 on a 8.5 inch wide rim. I dont think it would look that bad either

I'd say 275s on a 19x8.5 rim is way too wide... especially for such a short side wall...
