17" x 315 Could they hurt?
I'm intending to add some 17" x 315 in the rear, and I wondered if that is going to put my stock A4 tranny or 10 bolt at serious risk of breaking stuff??
Thanks for the help....

I think the generall advise is upgrade the rear end.
However, a few things can be done with the 10 bolt. There should be something in one of the stickies. Replacing the ring, pinion, and bearings is not extremely difficult; but its not easy either. There are some detail things that need to be paid attention to. If you take your time, dont rush it, and ask questions; you should be fine.
Getting the bearings off and on can be a bitch. But it can be done without "special" tools... depending on your definition of the word special.
It can be tricky shimming the diff. and putting preload on the bearings, just takes time, patience and a good feel.
Mating the ring and pinion so that it is not loose and not to tight can also be tricky.
Hope that helps.......

well, my mods are in my sig and im running the 315/35 MT ET Street Radials. im launching as hard as i can without excessive spin (still can't get better than a 2.11 60'). dont know how long it will last....
im sure my clutch dump is more harsh than what your A4 will do. maybe im wrong...
you should get 1.9 60s IMO
