18x9.5 wheel...widest tire in the rear?

Exclamation 18x9.5 wheel...widest tire in the rear?

Alright just a quick question. Been lookin at some new wheels for my car and the widest size is 9.5. Want size tire can i go with in the back, as far as it being the widest? Thanks for the help.

I had 275's on my old 9.5 zr1's and they fit perfect.

275/35R18 is your best bet. And the PREFECT tire for that wheel.

275 is perfect but i believe you can run up to a 295, right?

You "believe" incorrectly . . . 295/35R18 require a 10" wide wheel minimum.

A 285/35R18 can also be run.

how about a 285/40/18 in the back and 275/40/18 in front?? will this clear with a 1" drop??

275/40/18s, or 285/40/18s will fit fine in the rear, but up front you'll probably have some rubbing on hard turns.
