Default Nitto NT555Rvs. F1 GS-D3s

Which of the two is the better choice? I need a set of new tires, I already have a brand new pair of Eagle F1 GS (factory equipment) but dont ever wanna replace them again due to ridiculous cost. I have a chance to pick up the GS-D3s locally for a very good price but I was also thinking the NT555r's in the back of my head as well.

Anyone have experience with both of these? The car is pretty well bone stock for now, and I think the max it will ever get is a full bolt on car and that's all!

The Nittos will have better straightline traction when warmed up. Otherwise the GS-D3's will outperfrom the Nittos in every way. Especially in the rain. They will also last much longer. If it's a daily I'd get the D3's. Especially if you can get them for a good price. Get rid of the stock GS's. They are junk. Don't know why they cost so much.

Edit: Whoops. You're talking about the regular street tire not the DR. The D3 will outperform it in every way.

No I was talking about the DR so you were correct. The car is not a DD and never saw rain. I think im just gonna go with the D3's as it is an all around better tire. Just wondered if people had experience with both.

Just wondering if rocks stick to the NT555R's as easily as other DR's? I dont want them to be throwing rocks on my paint and what not.

My 555r's last a good 15k miles, I don't do a lot of burnouts. They don't throw rocks around at all on my SS and give excellent straightline traction.

I loved my d3s. Wish I still had my tire hookup bc I'd run forever. Before my heads and cam it was tough to break them loose.

I love my GSD3s !
They are a great all around tire. I never tried Michellins PS2s and as far as I know they are supposed to be on par with the GSD3s but I love they looks and performance I dont want to try others

They're good, track a little better than the D3's but are way too expensive. Any performance tire is going to sandblast the inside of your fender and quarterpanel over time.

If you're taking your car to the dragstrip than get the Nitto 555R; any tire not specifically designed for drag racing will give you fits when trying to launch.

I got two brand new D3's out back, it just suited my needs better. I LOVE the way they look Also, it could be just me but they look a bit wider then my stock GS's despite that both are the same size.

Yes, the D3's run wider than normal. I noticed the same thing when compared to the stock GS's.

Oh, and a word of warning, don't drive with them in the snow.

Why would I ever do that? My car doesn't see a rainy day.

Just warning you. I got stuck in a freak snowstorm one day. It wasn't even that bad and I felt like my tires were rotating drums. Due to the v-tread design they don't shed snow at all. Do great channeling water though until they get bald.

If you want straightline traction, the Nitto is better from what I've read. Depends what you need them for, be more specific.
