Default Drag Wheels 15s or 16s?

Im about to get some new drag wheels. For the rear should I get a 16 or 15? I like the look of a 17/16 combo looks awsome, but Im afraid with a 6 speed Im going to need all the sidewall I can get with a 28in tire!

15 all the way. Just my .02 but it seems like you need to make up your mind what you want out of the car. You either want it to look good or perform good, either way you go it will work for you and look good but the 15 with the extra sidewall will help you bunches. I do think with the power you make, you can get a 16 to hook.

Go with 15's. I have 16" prostars and I am very limited on tire choices. In hindsight I should have gone with 15's. Don't assume the 16's will fit without grinding. My calipers had to be ground to put on my weld prostar 16x8's and I still have to run a small spacer. My grinding was probably more minimal that those of you with 15's though.

Im not running Welds..I wont grind on my breaks..to me thats not too safe! But I think a 15 is the way to go for now, then get a matching 17 later..

I have a 15 Weld wheel on my car that fit over that are designed for Stock LS1 brakes. As others said, I'd go with a 15" wheel and get all the sidewall you can, and keep it on a bias ply tire.

OP, you have to decide what tire you are going to run, and then select the rim.

6 spd cars are easier to hook with a full slick, but you can make drag radials work too.

Im looking at an ET Street or an ET Drag, The ET Street I think would be better if I was going to and from car cruzins..but its between those two! With D/A shocks in the rear I think the ET Street will work, but whatever I go with it is going to be bias-ply.

They make a 28x16 ET Street, not sure about a 28x16 ET Drag, you'd have to go to MT's website and check it out.

After going through a bunch of threads with pics I'm going with 15's. 17's up front look awesome but 15's on all fours just look "meaner" to me. Ordered some street/strip wheels from SJM the other day and I can't wait to get them.

Seeing those others I'm sure I'll get some more wheels in the future. But for now we'll see how street strip D10s work out.

I really like how the 17's look on that cobra but Im not a big fan of how they look on the f-body cars. Just my opinion.
