ProStars or what???
I have an 00 Z with a currently being built 6 speed, spec 3 clutch, strange axle with 4.10 gears, and a full spool. I recently bought a pair of 15x3.5 pro star front runners for 200 bucks from a friend. I was looking to buy a complete set, but i couldn't pass up the deal. They came with a set of MT sportsman tires with decent tread. My question is this, what wheels and tires can i put on the rear WITHOUT any grinding or modifcations to make them clear the rear calipers? I know there are issues with the pro stars on the rear and the clearance issues. The goal i have for my car, is to not modify the car in any way that i have to cut, grind, or remove, (other than a cage which i have to have to run) and keep full interior. I want the wheels to be a direct bolt on and go. I have the stock bolt pattern on the rear, no studs, so that i can run the zr1's or be able to bolt on the ET streets and go to the track. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Because that's the size that fits stock width rear ends without them sticking out and/or not rubbing on the inside. You want a wheel that isn't going to require grinding? You're going to have to drop some coin on them. Why do you think so many guys just deal with grinding and run a Prostar setup? Because a few hours of work is more suitable for some people than paying 450+ for a wheel. Trust what Mr. 396 has to say... the guy knows his ****... especially when it comes to stuff like this. Good luck, man.

lol.... I had to do the same thing. Ground one side and then the other and seem to fit fine 'till I got it on the road. Rubbed. Did it again and again untill finally cleared. Probably spent 4 hours grinding. It sucked, but they fit now. Grinding calibers is a bitch but I saved some money with the Prostars.

I think if you are going to be putting a cage in your car, grinding on the calipers won't hurt anything. You can paint right back over them and not even notice they have been grinded. It took about 2 hours to grind all of my cailpers and repaint them. I'm not running spacers either. I have the summit stars. Minimum grinding to get them to fit.
