Finally I can give full throttle in first and not go sideways. Hooks very well and rides 10x better. I pray they do well in the rain. Highly recommended to anyone who likes to have fun on the street.

Keep the psi at around 25psi for street use (and longest tread life) and you'll love em. I can say that I've been caught in the rain plenty of times with these (275/40/17) and they give me peace of mind when I was in highway traffic going 50mph. Of course you have to drive with common sense in the rain, regardless. These tires are very nice!

Great in the rain, Realy guys? Be honest, I have ran them in the rain, and for a drag radial they are probly the most street worthy, but they are anything but "good" in the rain, they will get you there if your damn carefull, but they are no Aquatread or anything.

I agree....be careful. These are not regular mom and pop tires for all weather conditions. I have been impressed with mine based on the performance vs. mileage trade-off you get with them.

So basicly what im hearing from people is that they go from 8000-15000 miles depending on how you treat them, decent in the rain, they hook good on the street and ok at the track, and to run them at about 23-25 psi so they don't wear in the middle. Is this about right?

I have done pretty dang good with mine. I drive in the rain on the interstate at 60 to be safe and I never had any getting sideways or anything. Dry traction is great when you have simple bolt-on's. Now that I have a 4k stall I have to do suspension because it unloads and helps produce tires spin after getting off the line.

Edit: 555r 315's fit on 9 inch wheels. They run smaller than real 315's.

8000 miles are about how long my 1st set lasted. 2nd set, I have less than 6000 on them & they are close to bald. If you get 15000 out of a set youre too easy on them They are a very good tire in the rain, hook ok but not as good as Hoosiers or MTs but also less expensive too. Its best to run them at 25 psi as they like to wear quicker in the middle tread, I ran 30-35 psi on my 1st set & the middle wore through the cords.

to be quite honest i didnt like my 555r's. i went from them to the Invo's and the Invo's grip much much better, the tread life is already surpassed that of the 555's and still have several thousand left on them, and i never have any issues in the rain. I wont go back to 555's

Okay I didn't mean to exaggerate the word great but they are some good for wat they are. Great in the street okay in the track... Lack of side wall did but a 1.82 60ft

I got a 1.77 60ft with them spinning because of suspension. Like I posted above it hooked then it spun then it hooked.
