Default Leave them Silver or paint them black ZR1s

Alright, so at the moment my car currently has stock OEM ZR1s which are silver painted. Lately I have been debating painting them but I can't fully bring myself to decide which to do or to do it at all. I have a red/black theme going and plan to do the berger panel soon when I get a different spoiler so the wheels would look out of place left silver but at the same time I like them that way.

Here they are now - Silver OEM

Black spokes, rest left Silver.

Or all the way Black. Not ZR1s but all black wheels in general on red.

What do you think? I left out the traditional all black with a regular lip ZR1s that you can buy because I prefer a bigger lip vs the smaller ones they come with.

Black with the lip red. A friend did that on his red ss and I really liked the way it came out

I think it looks good the way it is but all black with a red pinstripe would look killer

Keep them silver!

Purchase another set and do whatever with.

It's getting harder to find a nice set OEM silver ZR1 wheels.

Yes, the fact they are OEM makes me want to keep them silver plus they do look good in silver I just don't want them to be out of place with a black rear panel on the car as well.

pir7tr - Did you ever get your set of ZR1s put on the car?

I understand the black and red theme...Ive always tried to have two of one thing that way I can retain the OEM piece. Example the berger panel. I purchased another one and kept my original so I could reinstall it if I ever wanted to. I recently made that decision and installed the OEM piece and did not have to match/repaint a painted black berger panel. That was my point with purchasing another set of zr1s that way you could paint them whatever color you want and keep the OEM wheels.

My desire to install my set of ZR1s has not changed. I am waiting on the funds to allow me to purchase another set of tires for the wheels. I'm not interested in having to eat dismount/mount/balance fees every time I want to switch wheels. Can't say when and if the funds will be available anytime soon. The FM5's will keep rolling.

Yeah, I plan to buy a spare panel to paint black so I can keep my OEM red one in case I ever want to switch back or should sell the car in the future.

There is just something about a set of ZR1s that really give the car a clean fresh look.

If I ever got a different set of wheels Id keep the ZR1s just to have them to switch back to if I ever wanted to.

They are super easy to keep clean as well!
No fancy bolts exposed on the face of the wheel to keep clean by agitating with a toothbrush.
No small crevices for brake dust to collect which is near impossible to wash.
No oxidizing to polish.

If you could get your hands on some 10 spokes and paint them all black, then that would look sweet

you can try the plasti dip stuff to test it out in black and if you dont like it just peel it off. Best of both worlds.. I personally always love black wheels with polished lip or same color lip as the car..
