Nitto makes a 285/40 and 315. Nitto 555's ftw! Thats what im running as it doesnt look bad on a stock ws6 wheel but they are made for a 9.5 " wheel.
You could go 555r's in the rear and regular 555's in the front.
Ive had a night/day differeance when I switched to a nitto...

I went with Falken FK452 in a 275/40 on 18x9.5 wheels. With a heavier passenger, I have had some slight rubbing over big bumps, but that is because of the spacing on my wheels and the larger diameter.
I like the 275 size, because most competitive events around here class a vehicle higher if the tires are wider than a 275. These Falkens stick really nicely, and I do not have any traction issues with them. Going to a stickier tire makes all the difference in the world, a larger width is not really a big advantage.

you do not want an R rated tire if want a tire that will last and you dont plan to race on. the 555R is a drag tire, not a corner carving tire meaning the sidewalls are not stiff. the regular Nitto 555 tires are good. since you want a tire that lasts look for a treadwear rating higher than 200. The Nitto NT05 has a a treadwear rating at like 200 or 220 and they only last about 15k miles max but they are great summer tires. and stick with a 275/35/18 tire. your not gaining much going with a 285/40 but you are losing more $$$ out of your wallet.
