Default good performance tire in a 15" rim size?

I am getting some new rims, looking at getting Weld rts 15" x8.25" rim up front. Looking for a 255-265 performance tire for the front that is a 90% street driven car

also what backspacing size should i get for the 8.25" front wheel?

A) there's a strong possibility that a 15" wheel may not clear the front brake calipers; and

B) there haven't been any "high performance", in other words, "speed rated" 15" tires manufactured since the late 80s-very early '90s.......

The normal size rim to clear the front brakes is 15x3.5" and some still need spacers or grinding to fit. So you good like trying to get a 15x8 to clear and also if you're looking for a tire for handling you need to look into 17" or 18" rims.

What, exactly, are you attempting to do?? If you provide some pertinent information, you might get some useful information in return............

I have 15" wheels and if they would clear ls1 brakes I would have installed them years ago.

I had to grind calipers/wheels to make them clear ls1 rears.

Also there is no such thing as a "performance" 15" tire that is wider than 215-225 and those will be low profile for ricer cars. 15" wheels means you are either running shitty all seasons or drag radials.

It blows.

I want to make my car look like a clown car, duh..

jk. obviously i am buying new wheels and want a 15" rim in rear so i can fit some fat tire with a nice sidewall on it. why else would i want 15s?

The rims i want arent made in a 16" rim or that would be my top pick

I don't know about anybody else on this forum, but I'm not a mind reader, so I don't know why you would want a 15" rim on your car......

Now, maybe if you said something like "I want to run drag radials on the rear, so I need to run a 15" rim on the rear", you might have gotten more fruitful information....

Not the same rim you have or for that matter rim size, but I do run a 17" front 16" rear and think it looks pretty good. So a larger front runner can look good.

M&H front runners and MT 315 rears.

went with a 17" x9.5 and 15x10.5 in the rears. Also ordered some 295/28"/15 Mickey thompson et street tires for the rear. Haven't decided on a front tire yet
