Default Fourth Gen F-Body wheels on a Grand National, how do you make it work?

I was curious, I know the spacers needed to make a 4th gen rim fit on a 3rd gen, I was wondering if anyone knew if you could make a 4th gen rim fit on a Grand National.

"Turbo Regals with the exception of GNXs were factory equipped with P215/65R15 Goodyear Eagle GTs. These tires were non-speed-rated and were NOT all-season radials. White letter Goodyear GTs of the same size were an option. The tires were mounted on either chrome-plated steel wheels ('86/'87 GN) or ribbed aluminum wheels ('84/85 GN, '86 T-Type & '87 Turbo-T). There were other wheels available for other turbo-packaged Regals but these are the two most common styles. Both styles were 15"x7". '86/'87 GN wheels had a 3mm negative offset and 4" of rear backspacing. The aluminum wheels had 3 3/4" of rear backspacing. The circle bolt pattern was 5 X 4 3/4 inches."

Looking to pick one up and it needs rims and tires to roll. I have the CCW SP510's sitting on my red Z28 roller right now and am dying to see what they'd look like on a Grand National. They are nothing custom (as far as back spacing, they are for a factory front and rear 4th gen) except the fact they are 18x10 and 18x12 (not even sure this will fit under a GN without a tub anyways).

Anyone have knowledge on this?

If you got a gn and you install these wheels then it will be mandatory that you post pics.

Last year I tried to trade my super clean LT1 ram air 6spd etc etc. for a 86 GN. I had one and I couldn't keep it in front of the house!! Dad bought it new in 87 and I got it in 91, from then to 96, got taken 3 times. Sold it and it was stolen again a week later for good.

Mark, think this way, they have the same offset as 3rd gens. The GTA rims and GNX rims were almost the same. If you figure that offset they work. If I recall you'll need spacers for sure. If you look under 3rdgens to 4th gen rims you can figure the the spacer needed...

X2 and FYI It's 2" spacers for thirdgens.

Edit: Some good info here http://www.skulte.com/adapterfaq.html

Thanks guys! That was what I was wondering (if they were the same as third gens). Now, if I added GNX fender flares I'd have to space them even more huh?

If I recall the fender flares didn't make the fender well bigger. This is why the GTA rims were the same as the GNX rims so offsets were the same.

looks like 3" would be overkill and have the tires sticking out from the fenders.

measure it properly to find the necessary size for the spacers/adapter, get them custom made if you need. If the wheels are a different bolt pattern, you can get adapters made to allow you to use them still.

motorsport-tech.com will custom make anything you need

Measured today. It is already sticking out over 2" in that picture. I'm also adding GNX fender flares so 2" would be flush stock 3" for the flares.

They make/sell a lot of the components needed for upgrading brakes on old schools (big brake kits). Check them out
