Default Cheapo, but decent front tires? (555r rear)

im kind of on a budget and im looking for a good all around tire that won't break the bank. i saw that some people were giving these tires good reviews, which surprised me seeing as how inexpensive they are. are they any good?

i had originally planned on picking up some bfg g force sports, but everyone has them back ordered. i was also looking at the yokohama avs and kumho asx. anyone have opinions on these? basically looking for the least expensive tire that would have decent traction on dry pavement and the rain (don't really care about snow, since i never drive in it).

I used them on my stock 16's. 245/50/16, they were really good in the dry at first but they seem to have gotten hard all of a sudden. I normally use my 16's for a winter tire set up so they do sit around for 8-9 months of the year. When I first got them they hooked really well for some reason, I actually ripped off a 1.98 60 foot with them (bolt on Z28 M6, stock clutch) which is REALLY good for such a skinny street tire on an M6. But as I stated earlier, they seem to have gotten dry or something and don't hook worth ****. They also have this nasty *** brown color to them for some reason. I think I paid about $80 each for them so I can't really complain especially since I only use them for a winter set up, but I wouldn't suggest them if your looking for good all around performance.

I had to get a set of 275/40/17s about a year ago when my cobra got two mysterious slashed tires when I was out of town. they didnt seem much different than I the BFG G sport that came off. car was 600rwhp and didnt hook up but I wouldn't say it was worse. probly a good daily driver tire the get another set with DRs or slicks

As long as you're not expecting drag-radial performance out of these tires, you'll be fine. I bought a set of 275/40/17's, 5 years ago for my formula. They drove fine down the road, wore decent, and never went flat/low on me. They COULD be hooked decent at the track, or you COULD blaze them off for 300' depending on how you drove it.

I really wish they made a 315/35 to be honest

ok thanks for the input. changed my mind and decided to spring a bit more money into the setup. im looking at running 555r in the rear and some cheapo tire in the front, like a falken ziex 912 or ecsta asx. how does this setup sound?

yeah, definitely. only reason i considered the raptors was because i read a couple posts with good reviews. figured it was people trying to justify buying cheapass tires, but figured i'd check first. i called discount tire to see if they can somehow order in the bfg's and they couldn't, so nitto it is
