Default 19in. Rim/Tire help

hi new to the site got 98 trans am the suspension is stock just bought pair of 19inch rims off my buddy got them for a good deal he had them on a bmw they are 5lug universal he had 225/35r19 on all four tires i wanna change the tire size what should i go with a 245/35 on all four or 275/30 or 275/35 but i read on a thread on here if i put 275/35 on car i have have the speedo recalibrate

aslong as the overall size of the tire hasnt changed , you wont have that problem. however 225 tires are really narrow which makes me think the rims you picked up are only 8" wide , and you cant put 275 tires on that , it would be streched waaaaaaaaay to much ..Use this to calculate the tire size and keep it the same as stock http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...foTireMath.jsp

also , you should get more information about the rims you picked up , 19 x ? are they ?

these cars need at least a 10 or 11 inchrear, 8 inch in the rear looks dinky lol, do you have any plans to lower it?welcome to the site

thank u eventually want to lower it how would i know if its 10 or 11 inch the rims are called maas i only paid 180 dollars for them

just looked on the back of the rim 19 x 8.5 i went on discounttiredirect i match up my stock rim 245/50r16 to a 245/35r19 it said your going approximately 98 so i take it im close to the original specs would u run these rims 19 x 8.5 please let me know thank u

so i went back on tire size calculator i type in my stock rims size 245/50r16 to what i wanna put on 245/35r19 it said speedometer was reading 65 and approximately going 98 thats off a good way any suggestion what i should do to get the speedometer close to where it needs to be with the new rims

try to get a tire as close to 26" in overall diameter as possible.
and you will be good

You'll be fine if you go with 255-35-19 tires.

100% agreed ! I hated the stupid stock wheels .. 19 x10.5 looks much better in the back
