less rotating mass, dont know if its true or not but i think i read somewhere that each pound you lose off your wheel weight (rotating mass) equals about 3 pounds of stationary weight. it might be mental but it feels like my car is faster with the fat/skinnies then with the factory wheels.

Yes less rotating mass and resistance from the skinnier tire. There is a formula that the science guys can chime in with. But I would not drive 100 mile round trip with them on, change them at the track. Good luck and post up your results.

Weigh both wheels (stock Vs. Summit) and post the weights of each if you have a scale and post results. I was at the Summit Racing store in Reno this weekend (Reno Air Races) and picked up a set of their knockoff wheels and I couldnt believe how heavy they were!

You will be fine driving on them just becareful, skinnys can get caught in groves in the road/brakes are not as good, you wont drop as much time as you would with a real lightweight wheel up front but you should see some improved times,

There fine to drive on as long as the tires are in good shape...I have been DDing my car for the last 2yrs on 3.5" Prostars with 165 cheapo's and quite a few 200+mile road trips. Theres lots of people on here that do the same.

Yea I have driven on mine some but you do have to be careful taking turns slowly. But it all depends om which tires or rims. For example the convo-pros I have now have the 165 skinny radials on them and does ride pretty good.

The bogarts with mickey thompsons bias plys that I borrowed off my buddy a few years back were much lighter but I certainly wouldn't drive with them on the street so it all depends on the set-up.

Don't the 165 cheapies defeat the purpose of trying to go lightweight?
I'm shopping for my first drag setup
If I get et streets and 165 cheapies I can still drive around, but will they be too heavy?

Op, i also forgot to mention in the summer months i dd my car i have 3.5 prostars and drive 120 miles a day on them, it has always drove fine, but i will say after driving on them for so long then going back to a more street wheel its night and day, drives and rides so much nicer,if its a dd and your thinking of going with drag rims i would pass, just save up for a nice forged wheel, now if its a weekend toy go drag wheels all the way
