NT05R's hook with no burn out?
Buying a pair of 305/35/19 DR for my GTO and need to know if the NT05R's hook well on the street without a burnout? If the consensus is a no, and the MT's do hook well without a burn out I may consider those instead (Even though I like the mileage possibilities on the Nittos).
I know the MT's are better all around drag radial, but mileage is important since these tires will never see the track (I have a set of spares with 275/45/17 BFG DR's for the track) THE 19'S ARE FOR THE STREET ONLY.
Thanks dudes.

When I compare the specs of two of the exact same size tires (one being a 555 DR and the other being a NT05R) on Nittos website, it seems the overall width is still the same. That tells me that the NT05R runs the same width for the given tire size, as the 555 DR. But, I'm really hoping someone will chime in who has owned multiple brands of DR and can confirm that a 305 NT05R has the same section width as a 305 MT/Hoosier etc.

i would go with the 05R's, they are nasty!!!!! but, i went with 555Rs cause of the rain and my 305/35/18s were the exact size (or pretty close to) the inches on their website.. i was very skeptical but they ended up being a perfect fitment..

Love my 05r's but hate everything they pick up. I swear if drive on a dusty road with tiny rocks they end up looking like 5grit sand paper. Not to mention they throw everything at your rear bumper
