Default Skinniest tires on stock SS rims?

Whatd the skinniest tire i car run on the stock 02 SS rims? I have 275 all around, but want to go 275 ET streets in the rear and something a bit smaller in the front. Will 255/45/17 work?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

255/45/17 would not be a good choice, since it's 0.38" taller than the 275/40/17 that you'd have in the rear.

On the other hand, you could use a 245/45/17 up front, and that would only be 0.02" taller than the rears - which is imperceptible. 245 is really the most narrow you should go on the stock 9" wide wheels.

235/45/17(25.33") is as narrow as you should go and is about 1/3" shorter than stock, while still working well with a 9" wide wheel.
FYI, the size range for a 235/45/17 is 7.5" up to 9" wide wheel.

I don't like the little bit stretch that you get with 245/45/17 on my front.

Are you doing this just for looks? Or in hopes of better ets?

I ran 245/45s on my front ZR1s with no problems - made turning easier and not nearly as much tramlining as compared to the 275s...

Stretched tires are not a good look... just use the correct size tire for the wheel or get narrower wheels.

Whats the point? It looks goofy and the weight difference will be insignificant in regards to ET

245mm = 9.6in... how is that goofy or stretched on a 9" or 9.5" wheel?

245s are a better fit on 8" wide wheels. Of course you could put it on a 9" wide wheel but why? I'm curious as to why the OP wants to run mismatched tire sizes.

I got 9 inch fronts with 245s and they are stretched too bad they are completely flush with the wheel as id like. I would say 245s on 8 inch thats what i had previous. What looks killer is the ss wheels narrowed and widened so you can run bigs and littles, i like the ss wheels.
